Donate to HEAL
Give a gift that will impact the work we do at Rehema Children’s Centre by making a general donation to HEAL. 100% of the money donated will support the Rehema Secondary School. In January we will open our school doors to our first freshman class. In addition to educating our own students, we hope to welcome the community children. In order to do this, we need $5,000 to purchase books, supplies, build more pit latrines, and much more! Your donation to HEAL, will help start a school that will provide vital educational resources to the Rehema children, and the surrounding community. It’s an exciting endeavor and we need your support to get started. Any money raised over $5,000 will be donated to the finishing and furnishing of the dormitory. We are excited to announce that HEAL has partnered with BrightPoint for Children to provide you an opportunity to sponsor a child at Rehema Children’s Centre in Kenya. Sponsorships will help provide for each child’s food, clothing, healthcare, adult care and education needs. Meeting these needs on an ongoing, consistent basis is the best way to make a difference in the life of each Rehema child.

BrightPoint for Children is a Christ-centered, child sponsorship organization that partners with organizations like HEAL. This partnership will further our mission in a number of ways:

• Provides immediate sponsorship opportunities, customized and specific to the Rehema children we support.
• Sponsorships provide a meaningful relationship between a sponsor and a child, serving as a bridge to faith, hope and transformation for both. BrightPoint and HEAL will work together to facilitate communication between each child and their sponsor.
• Sponsor support will complement and supplement our other project work at Rehema.

The First Permanent Dormitory

We are making progress on the first dormitory. Every day we move a little closer to completion. This July, 20 people from Grace Church in Rutland, VT and the VT UCC Southwest Association will travel to Kenya for the first HEAL mission trip! They will stay at our children’s home, help with various projects including the construction of our first permanent dormitory and of course spend time with the children at Rehema Children’s Centre.

Our president, Jennifer Musick Wright is visiting Kenya from April 12th-July 17th. She is supervising the development of the Rehema Children’s Centre with director, Benjamin Gikonyo and principal, Tabitha Wambui. In April the Rehema girls joined the Rehema boys on the HEAL property. We care for 61 children: 37 girls and 24 boys. They are enrolled in school and they are happily living  at the Centre. We will continue to provide a happy home for our children as we develop the Rehema Children’s Centre and Rehema Secondary School.

Give the gift of cement. 1 bag of cement = $10.00

Give the gift of concrete blocks. 1 block = $1.00

Give the gift of Iron roof sheets. 1 sheet = $20.00

Water Project

Give the gift of clean water. Donate towards our water project. 1 drilling kit costs $5,000. We will purchase the kit, dig our own well, and then dig wells in the community to earn income for the orphanage and give clean water to our neighbors.

Animal Income Projects

Give the gift of a chicken. Donate towards the healthy nutrition of the children and towards the income earned from our chicken project. 1 chicken = $10.00

Give the gift of a beef cow. Donate towards our beef income project. We raise the cows for one year and then sell them for triple the buying price. 1 beef cow = $100.00

School Supplies

Give the gift of a desk and seat for a student in our school. 1 desk/seat = $35.00

Give the gift of schoolbooks for a student in our school. 1 set of books = $60.00

All proceeds from this event will go to support the development of a secondary school and boys orphanage in rural Kenya.
